AMBER/Autonomie needs the system’s region to be set to English (United States)
The user that will be working with AMBER must be the one who performs the installation
The AMBER installation (setup.exe) uses Microsoft’s ClickOnce technology. One of the benefits of this technology is that it does not require administrator privileges to install. Each application is installed in isolation on a per-user basis so it can’t interfere with other applications. As a result, each user needs to run the setup.exe.
Attention IT Departments If control over who can install AMBER is desired, place the contents of the extracted ‘AMBER.Zip’ file on a network drive. Then manage its access via active directory. When installed from a network drive, AMBER will only update from that location.
AMBER Extraction
-
We recommend the ‘AMBER.Zip’ file be extracted and installed from the user’s ‘Downloads’ folder or any other folder that’s guaranteed to have full read/write access. This will mitigate installation issues as well as any application updating problems in the future.
